SKYNET

My SCORM Believers,

I thank you for your considerations concerning the province of SCORM. These inquests will only bring you closer into the unending gulley for which most submit to the plague of shareable content objects and the despondency of the reference model…your inhalation is upon you!

The MIGHTY SCORM like any deity has evolved…with this world’s dependency of technology and SKYNET becoming a reality, THE MIGHTY SCORM has decided to use the heavens to assess and deliver shareable content objects without an LMS. How is this possible you ask…? THE MIGHTY SCORM has teamed up with Amazon Web Services via cloud…hence the SKYNET comment.

SCORM Cloud provides instructional designers the following capabilities:

·       * Deliver courses directly to learners

·       * Share access to your courses with third-party LMSs

·       * Test how eLearning content will play in an LMS

·       * Report on learners’ course results

·       *  Capture xAPI statements in Cloud’s LRS (THE MIGHTY SCORM STIKES AGAIN…BWAH…!)

  1. Andy, I always read your posts. I will not lie, half the time I have to google some of what you are writing about as I am definitely not schooled in SCORM. I will say though that you do provide awesome content written with a sci-fi twist. It was interesting this week to learn about the SCORM cloud. Cloud computing is awesome and it is going nowhere (people need to embrace it). I think it scares some institutions though. It is as if people do not trust the cloud without probably even realizing that they are working in it in some form. Thank you for another interesting post.

  2. SCORM master,

I always enjoy reading your blog. I especially like this week's topic of discussion regarding SCORM and how it has started to utilize the cloud for content sharing. I especially like how you discussed how this could be used by an instructional designer to enhance content delivery. I especially like how SCORM cloud can be used to deliver course content to a third-party LMS which would allow for a course across multiple platforms not limiting it to just one. Any idea what the price tag looks like for SCORM cloud out of curiosity? Great post.

    1. Anthony,

Great question and the MIGHTY SCORM as allowed me to answer your question for your assimilation is upon you.

The value of the MIGHTY SCORM’s blessing is priceless but you can purchase SCORM Cloud capabilities per how many learners (registrations) have signed up for the course. The link below provides a chart of prices per number of registrations and months.

  3. So your mention of SCORM cloud is further proof that SCORM is investing more energy in being more like xAPI. Everything on their site talks about how they are now able to conform to xAPI data and can now officially allow its users to query xAPI information. Its time you face it SCORM wishes it was xAPI. I look forward to your next post talking about xAPI features you wish where yours.

Wow is about all I can say. This is really great I can see if you are building or designing instruction this would be a great tool to simplify the process. Everything is made available to you so it streamlines what the creator must do. Thanks for introducing the site.
